Will there, or can there be some type of window shading installed? Thanks Eric McHugh Date: Thu, 23 Mar 2006 09:52:20 -0600 From: Eric McHugh Subject: Noise survey Hello Alan During the EWR performed on 3/22/2006, you mentioned concern of noise levels in the CMS control room (WH 11NW) and the sidewalk area of DZero's "pit". Amber Larson and I met with you (observer) and performed an informal noise survey. The CMS control room was measured at 52 dBA and the sidewalk at DZero measured 72 dBA. Both are below the 85 dBA time weighted average (16hr/day exposure level) action level (where engineering, administrative controls or PPE are to be implemented) and below the OSHA Permissible Exposure Level (PEL) of 90 dBA (8hrs/day exposure level). This noise survey was conducted with a Quest Electronics 215 Sound Level Meter with A weighting. If so, can we get some pamphlets on the chairs for adjustment procedures. It seems as though the users of the chairs do not have a full understanding of the adjustment capabilities. Thanks Eric McHugh Date: Fri, 24 Mar 2006 08:57:11 -0600 From: Lisa Carrigan Subject: RE: chairs Yes I did. I just called my Rep., he's a real nice guy, his name is Bill Wach, and he's checking into faxing some instructions on how to adjust the chair. We bought 8, and they are a Zoom, LeMans, #IN46112, purchased in 7/05, through Desks- proposal #05070175/114. We would like to arrange a time for both me and Bill to come and talk to the end users. When I set up the room, I worked w/Kaori, and there were no people up there yet. No equip. either. What would be a good day/time to set this up? Let me know. Thanks -LC Lisa A. Carrigan
