- SetupCMSSW can take three command line inputs
- $1 = CMSSW Release version (eg., 0_4_1 or 0_5_0_pre2)
- $2 = yes or no (copy Visualization Tutorial from CERN CVS )
- $3 = yes or no (copy CMSSW Tutorial files and build the application)
The script requires a CMSSW release version, and by default, will not copy the tutorial files.

- 2006-03-28: Request to John Kent for: a) access holes for KVM cables, b) mounting LCD monitor,
c) door stop for ROC, d) adjust closure on men's bathroom, e) adjust faucets and hot water in men's
bathroom and f) install blinds in my office.
- 2006-03-27: VPN account for laptop.
- 2006-03-27: PPD Data Support Group will install Office 2003, Cygwin (kerberos & X-server), McAfee,
VPN (for tracking, remote Windows access), and other required and/or standard products.
WRQ is no longer supported by PPD DSG. Need to remove Symantec, and install McAfee for antivirus.
Gave permission to wipe the disk and redo the installation from scratch.
- 2006-03-27: Request for pencil cups, laser pointers and a 36" wooden pointer for the ROC.
- 2006-03-22: Submitted requisition for new table for the ROC. Same style, 24"x72" dimensions, no modesty
panel.
- 2006-02-28: Submitted requisition for ROC file server. Patrick worked up a bid from Koi Computers
for about $6k. Includes three years on-site parts and labor.

- 2006-03-29: Ordered new business cards.
- 2006-03-29: Big screen TV for the ROC. Yurii Maravin from Kansas State Univ ordered
a 42 inch
Westinghouse LCD Monitor.
- 2006-03-27: Received additional KVM extender cables (vendor VPI) for the ROC.
- 2006-03-24: Moved bookshelf to ROC for neat storage of books, paper, binders, etc.
- 2006-03-23: Registered laptop ALANCMSROC in the Fermi domain with DHCP. Installed Norton SystemWorks 2006,
Zone Alarm Firewall, Spybot S&D,. Automated updates of Windows Security and Antivirus.
- 2006-03-22: Ergonomic workstation review with Eric McHugh and Amber Larson. Eric sent
around a few emails on shading, noise and chairs.
- 2006-03-21: New Dell laptop
arrived. Requisition for new laptop - Dell Inspiron 6000
was submitted on 3 Feb 2006. Follow-up on 28 Feb 2006, Terry Read sent a "High Priority" email to push the requisition to purchasing.
- 2006-03-13: Received one 25 ft computer extension cable (video, keyboard, mouse) for the ROC,
and video quality is unaffected.
We want to move all the PC towers behind the false wall to provide more leg room under the tables
and to improve the look of the ROC. Patrick and I worked out the numbers and lengths. We need a total
of 18 cables in lengths from 15 to 35 ft.
- 2006-03-08: Received electronic copy of
ROC Floor Plan from Lisa Carrigan.
Autocad drawing was done by vendor. Lisa updated with a current ROC configuration. Linked to ROC web page.
- 2006-03-08: Received fax from Lisa Carrigan who generated a quote for a ROC table from Home Concepts.
Same style, 24"x72" dimensions, no modesty panel.
- 2006-03-02: Whiteboard mounted to wall in my office per request sent to John Kent.
- 2006-03-01: Arranged with HVAC manager (Randy Sales) to disable the direct temperature control from the ROC
thermostat. The setpoint is currently 70 F by software. The lowest available setpoint for our part of Wilson Hall is 68 F.

- 2006-02-17: Created HyperNews account.

- 2006-02-17: Obtained CERN computing and mail accounts.
Faxed CMS registration form to
CMS Secretariat (2 Feb 2006). Follow-up with CERN helpdesk (16 Feb 2006).
- 2006-02-17: Fixed problem with pine taking 15 seconds from flxi02, flxi03 to connect to imapserver3, then rsh times out, and
finally connects. Sent email to FNAL helpdesk, but they do not provide support for email applications. Found solution on CERN
Mail FAQ under Pine rsh timeout. I changed
rsh-open-timeout=0 in my .pinerc file in my home directory.
- 2006-02-15: ROC Meetings are now part of
the CMS Agenda Server.
- 2006-02-15: Revamped ROC Web Page. Updated links. Simplified
the html code. Revised mission statement. Added standard FNAL footer, archives, new photos, MTCC links, ROC Elog,
Mailing list and Meetings. I plan to make this page the portal for users of the FNAL ROC.
- 2006-02-10: Received office key (requisition submitted Jan 31st).
- 2006-02-09: Created CMSROC mailing list.
