APS Neutrino Study, 2004
Superbeams Working Group
Short Baseline Neutrino Physics
This working group is studying short baseline neutrino physics at
conventional neutrino facilities and superbeams in the context of the
APS neutrino physics study. This encompasses both oscillations at
short baselines and its implications and high intensity neutrino
scattering physics.
Physics topics:
Oscillation physics at short baselines:
- MiniBooNE follow-ups
- CP Violation at short baseline
Neutrino scattering physics
- Cross section measurements for oscillation experiments
- Form factor measurements and extraction of strange spin of the
proton, Delta s
- Coherent pion production
- sin2theta_W via neutrino-electron elastic scattering
- Search for non-zero neutrino magnetic moment
- Duality studies in the resonance region
- Structure Function studies
- Physics on polarized targets
- Strange particle production, charm quark studies, and pentaquark
searches
