Troy Dawson Operating System Architect 18 years of Fermilab service.
I joined Fermilab October 1993. I left Fermilab September 2011.
I was originally hired as a Research Division Operator, to steer the proton beams to their targets and take care of the experiments. There was a division merger and for a couple of years I was in the Beams Division, as an accelorator operator.
October 1999, I switch from Beams Division to Computing Division to work on the Farms.
May 2001, I switched from Farms, to the Fermi Linux team, in the CSI group. I was part of the Fermi Linux team until I left, despite several group changes. Connie and I helped start Scientific Linux, and I was part of the Scientific Linux team until I left.
