OPENAFS-FERMI RPM's
OPENAFS Clients From Oldest to Newest
- openafs-fermi-1.04-1.i386.rpm (Fermi Linux 6.1.2)
This was the first release of openafs-fermi. It was for a temperary replacement of afs-fermi while
transarc got their 2.2.19 kernel module working. This also had a 2.4.2 kernel module, which didn't work
with RedHat's 2.4.2 kernel. These basically are the kernel modules straight from OpenAFS.
- openafs-fermi-1.04-3.i386.rpm (Fermi Linux 6.1.2)
This has the same modules, but recompiled on Fermi Linux 6.x. They seemed to work better..
- openafs-fermi-1.04-5.i386.rpm (Fermi Linux 6.1.2)
This release had a module for the 2.4.3 kernel, but it still didn't work correctly on RedHat's 2.4.3 kernel.
It also had all of the binaries that need to come with AFS. In Transarc's installation you get all the binaries
(such as klog) by linking /usr/afsws to someplace on the AFS Cell server. OpenAFS decided to bundle all these
binaries into the rpm, so the client is more independant. Since that was how OpenAFS was doing it, I figured I'd
bundle the binaries into openafs-fermi as well, so that if there was some conflict between the client and the
server (as far as versions go) the client wouldn't have to worry too much.
- openafs-fermi-1.04-6.i386.rpm (Fermi Linux 6.1.2)
Changes to the afs startup script, making it more robust. Slight changes to the install scripts.
- openafs-fermi-1.1.1-1.i386.rpm (Fermi Linux 6.1.2 and 7.1.1)
This was the first release of openafs-fermi that worked completely with Fermi Linux 7.1.1. It fully supports the
2.4.3-12 kernel, for both single and multiple CPU's. This distribution technically still
supports Fermi Linux 6.1.2, but it wasn't tested very well on that platform. The only reason the 6.1.2 stuff was
still in this rpm was because it would have been more work to take it out.
- openafs-fermi-1.1.1-2.i386.rpm (Fermi Linux 7.1.1)
The 6.1.2 support was taken out, making this rpm work for only Fermi Linux 7.1.1. The rpm was also
changed so that it 'obsoletes' afs-fermi.
