Information for Lecturers

• Transportation
  If you will not be at the summer school the entire time, here are two ideas for getting to and from the school:
  • it's highly recommended that you rent a car, since getting to and from Shelter Island via public transportation is tedious and difficult...JFK airport (south shore) and LaGuardia Airport (north shore) are about equal distance from Shelter Island. Estimated driving time is about 2 hours from the airports to the ferry. You can access the Island from either the North Ferry or the South Ferry , but the Pridwin is closer to the North--most people chose the north route. See links for schedule and fares, but the North Ferry runs every 15-20 minutes, and the south ferry runs every 10-12 minutes.
  • Limo in direction to or from the school will be about $100. Recommended services:

    Arrange for the limo to drive directly to the Pridwin or just to the ferry terminal, and we can then meet you on the Shelter Island side
