First Light - Data for the following plots were taken
by
hand
on 2/7/01 with the optics crudely aligned.
Automated data collection and final alignment of optics have occurred since
that date.
-
PMT ratio with no absorbers - this
is the first time that we are able to see a signal in PMT1 (the one 2 m
from the optics) without depending on the sample cylinder for total internal
reflection transport of the light. Signals in the two PMTs are quite comparable.
-
PMT ratio with Lucite bar.

Tests - Data for the following plots were taken with an automated
system which records data in steps of 10 Angstroms over the range 3000
- 5000 Angstroms (300-500 nm).
PMT1/PMT2 on the vertical axis of the plots is
the ratio of the PMT measuring transmission (PMT1)
and the reference PMT (PMT2).
