nessquik 2.5 has a host of new features and much of the code has been changed to accomodate them.
Future releases will offer more access for normal users and closer integration of features that
currently exist.
New features come down the pipe with every release. I'm also in the process of making more videos
to showcase the new features. I hope you find nessquik useful!
Welcome
|
The plugin view is larger now. But
no more difficult to use than in
the past. Search for plugins using
the field to the left.
|
And selecting plugins by severity.
Like in previous versions,
different plugins can be mixed
together.
|
Combine Families, Severities and
individual plugins to customize
your scan.
|
Select all plugins to use the
full suite of Nessus plugins.
|
In 2.5 all of your scan settings
can be configured before you even
schedule the scan!
|
Any arbitrary number of cgi-bin
directories can be specified.
nessquik will tell Nessus to
check all the directories here
|
The scheduling feature has been
added to the pre-scan config too.
The clock is also new because
it no longer uses the calendar.
|
Emailing reports has been
relocated to the pre-scan settings
area too. Specify an arbitrary
number of recipients.
|
Option help is available here
if you're wondering what a
specific option will do to your
scan.
|
When you're done configuring
the scan settings, click the
'schedule scan' button and
away you go.
|
The new settings page is
primarily just a redesign
of the old layout, but some
functionality has changed.
|
The dropdown menu is gone and
so are the tabs. I like this
look better and it can be
expanded further. Here are the
General Settings
|
The per-scan settings are next
Instead of using the drop menu,
all your scans are now listed and
you can even stop and delete them
from here without having to go to
the scans page. Convenient!
|
You'll be alerted if you try to
stop a scan. This is just in case
your mouse slips.
|
Once the scan has been cancelled,
you'll be able to change it or
delete the scan.
|
All the settings can be configured
for saved scans. All scans are saved
too!
|
The plugin list can be edited from
this page. It's the same layout as
from the create page.
|
New machines can also be added to
the scan profile and old machines
can be removed at will.
|
The main admin page is lean and
simple. More will exist here in
the future, but I'm sticking with
simplicity for now.
|
The admin settings page allows
you to add and change special
plugin profiles and scanners.
At least one scanner needs to be
configured for nessquik to work.
|
Here's the plugin profile creation
page. Select any number of plugins
to include in the profile. Also
select a group.
|
Here's an example of making a plugin
profile. You can create a critical
vulnerabilities profile and update
it instead of asking each user to
manually update their profiles.
|
nessquik general doesn't support
groups yet, so you'll have to select
all groups in the interim
|
Scan profiles can be removed or
changed after they've been created
|
Scanners must be added to nessquik
before scans can be run. This is
because of the nessquik API addition
Adding clients is simple and involves
only copying a key to the client's
config file.
|
As with the plugin profiles, the best
that you can do with 2.5 is to select
all groups. This will change in the
near future.
