Definition of the observable

We apply the algorithm in ref. [2] only to particles in a central rapidity region $ {\cal C}$. We cluster until two jets are left and study

$\displaystyle y_{23,{\cal C}} = \frac{1}{E_{\perp}^2} \max_{n \ge 3}\{d^{(n)}\}\>,$ (34)

with $ E_{\perp}$ the sum of the transverse energies of the two remaining jets.

Born event used for the analysis

The hard scale (Q) is taken to be the Born partonic center-of-mass energy.
Rapidity of the center of mass of the outgoing pair: 0.000
Cosine of the angle between outgoing jet and beam (in the partonic CM frame): 0.200

Elementary tests on the observable

Since this observable is non-global, the analysis has not been continued. Since this observable is discontinuosly global, multiple emission effects have not been computed.
