I do particle physics research in quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of quarks and gluons. My main interest is the determination of the fundamental parameters of the Standard Model of particle physics from the properties of the particles that contain quarks (hadrons), and the search for evidence of physics beyond the Standard Model in the decays of hadrons.

I serve as chair of the Executive Committee of USQCD, the US collaboration for developing supercomputing hardware and software for QCD formulated on a lattice. We design and operate large parallel computers for lattice QCD at Fermilab, as well as at Jefferson Lab and Brookhaven National Lab.
